About this course
The present course as played was opened in 1st July 1926. The official opening was performed by Mr A.M Mac Robert Q.C. ( Solicitor General for Scotland later to become Lord Advocate) on the 18th September 1926. The Course is conveniently situated in the South Side of Glasgow in East Renfrewshire, 400 yards North of Clarkston Toll. The 6045 yards parkland course was designed by James Braid and from various areas on the course, offers panoramic views of Glasgow, The Hills of Kilpatrick and Campsie Fells and The Munro’s of the Scottish Highlands. Although the course is private and owned by its members, visitors are welcome (Monday – Friday) by prior arrangement.
