Kirriemuir

About this course

Kirriemuir offers an admirable and highly enjoyable heathland/parkland layout, the perfect length for the entire day’s golf. The contours of each hole and arrangement of the course as a whole make for an undiminished golfing encounter. Avenues of woods, gorse and broom surround lush, undulating fairways with greens that are impeccable and true. The views, particularly from the 4th hole with Lochnagar in the distance, are inspiring. Kirriemuir lies in the heart of Scotland's golfing country. Carnoustie being only 18 miles away, St Andrews is just 35 miles away across the Tay Road Bridge, whilst a 60 minute picturesque journey takes the avid golfer to Gleneagles. No fewer than 8 Open final qualifying courses are within 45 minutes drive. Other James Braid designed courses in close proximity to Kirriemuir are Blairgowrie, Alyth and Forfar. Like many of the great courses, Kirriemuir’s best is reserved for the finish. The 17th and 18th are two fantastic holes. The 17th a 180yds, par 3 which is guarded by two majestic trees both left and right, this hole lives up to its name “Braids Gem”.
