About this course

The course is a nine hole lay out with eighteen tees which add interest to the second nine. There are some challenging holes, especially the seventh and the eighteenth. The seventh is a straight par 4 crossed by the Scallastle River so an over ambitious drive is likely to end up wet. Discretion is definitely advised. The eighteenth is a par 5 crossed by the same river which will collect an unwary second shot. Accuracy off the tee is rewarded, especially if the wind is blowing, so it is advisable to carry extra balls. The rough can be penal and, at times, nesting terns can make navigating the second fairway exhilarating! However, the course is one of the most scenic you are ever likely to play and with the sun on your back there are not many better places to be.
