Cathkin Braes

About this course

Cathkin Braes Golf Club, founded in 1888, is the second oldest golf club in the Clyde Valley, and is the oldest that is still on its original site. It is essentially a Moorland Course but over the years many trees have been planted. Despite the name ("Braes" means "Hills" in Scotland), it is relatively flat. The Course sits more than 650 feet above Glasgow, which results in some stunning views over Glasgow to the Campsie Hills and the Southern Scottish Highlands and out to the isle of Arran off the west coast of Scotland. Although it is only 5 miles from the centre of Glasgow it is in the middle of the countryside, and is widely regarded as one of the best inland courses in the West of Scotland.
